Volunteer

The Tubac Presidio State Historic Park is operated almost exclusively by volunteers! Volunteers are the heart and soul of the park and are essential to keeping the park running smoothly.

There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available. These roles may be seasonal or yearly, and may be project-based or regularly scheduled responsibilities. Volunteers are welcome to help in multiple areas of our operations, and learning opportunities are available for volunteers interested in learning new skills.

Opener/Closer

Central to keeping the park operating smoothly, these positions walk through all buildings to prepare for the day ahead. Volunteers may opt for either or both positions.

Visitor Center Representative

Shape every guest's experience by greeting them into our Visitor Center and providing them with excellent customer service. Shifts are split into 4-hours, morning or afternoon .

Gardener

Get outdoors and watch your hard work flourish by working to plant, prune, rake, harvest, and more in our 8 beautiful gardens.

Waterer

Looking for a simpler addition to your routine? Our waterers come in for short shifts every week to make sure our desert plants get a drink of water.

Maintenance

Help us keep the Presidio in excellent condition, and support our team to develop and install brand new exhibits.

Collections Coordinator

Get hands-on with history and help us maintain our collection of artifacts. Collections coordinators work to catalog and preserve our priceless items.
